Aloha Noni Family!

First off, we are all safe! The Hawaiian Islands, our family, the noni trees and Hope our albatross star who fledged for Alaska hours before the storm. We had a very busy weekend last week putting up plywood over the doors and windows of all our buildings and storing away potential flying objects. Having been through two hurricanes since moving to Kauai, Hurricane Iwa in 1982 and Hurricane Iniki in 1992, my family has experienced first hand the importance of hurricane preparedness.

We were so fortunate that as Hurricane Douglas passed Oahu and moved toward Kauai he veered just far enough north to pass offshore. We had very little rain and wind and only a few small tree branches came down.

A huge mahalo for all the positive thoughts and kind words, we received a tremendous amount of messages and calls from you all checking on us. My entire family greatly appreciates the concern!

What Can Noni do for my Skin? Noni heart

Did you know? "As much as 60% of topical skin care products are absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. They should be consumed with the same prudence that we use to choose our breakfast cereal." Dr. Nancy Lonsdorf

When it comes to organic skin care, what you put on your skin is just as important as what you put in your body.

While other commercial skin care products may end up stripping your skin of its natural oils, noni protects your skin, nourishes, and soothes. The compounds in the pulp of noni, specifically damnacanthal, anthraquinone and antioxidants not only help fight enzymes that break down collagen in the body but can aid the proper development of healthy, normal new skin tissue.

Noni Lotion to Shave!

Aloha Steve ...My wife and I toured your Noni Farm in Kaua'i and we very much enjoyed your informative presentation. I'm a skeptic with most products so as they say the "proof is in the pudding." I purchased two bottles of your 8-ounce Noni Lavender Lotion (and Noni Leather) and have been using the lotion on my forearms daily to improve the clarity of my skin. I have already noticed an improvement and I know it's not an overnight miracle, but I am so pleased to see my arms looking so much better. I plan on continuing to apply the Noni on my forearms and I couldn't be more pleased with this holistic remedy. By the way, I am also using the Noni Lavender Lotion as an aftershave and I love the way it tightens up my skin not to mention the soothing properties associated with Noni. Thanks again for the tour of your beautiful farm and offering such a unique organic product. We hope to see you again in the future. Aloha ~ Daniel

For Shaving:
Apply a coat of Noni Lavender Lotion to the area and shave as normal. We recommend applying a coat that’s on the thicker side.

As Aftershave:
Apply a thin coat over the freshly shaved area and let dry. Particularly for men on the face and neck or women in the bikini area. Also, is wonderful to apply after waxing as it soothes the irritated skin and reduces the  inflammation and redness.

You can also use Noni Lavender Lotion as a Cleanser:

Apply liberally to an area and rub the lotion into the skin using a gentle circular motion. You will notice little “balls” begin to appear on top of your skin. Noni is a great exfoliator and cleanser. The little “balls” are the cleansing effect of exfoliating dead skin as well as moving excess dirt, oil and makeup.

A Climate for Change Documentary Hope the albatross

Can you guess who made their debut in a new documentary series? Yes HOPE!! Our albatross star this season :)

Hawaii News Now, our local CBS affiliate station is currently featuring a three-part documentary series about facing the climate  change challenge. Midway Atoll in the Hawaiian archipelago is one of the primary breeding and nesting grounds for millions of albatross. With the continued rise in sea level, Midway is expected to be completely under water in just a few years time.

We were contacted by the series producer to help feature the story of these magnificent seabirds. They filmed hours of footage of the albatross colony fronting the noni orchards so we could hardly believe our eyes watching the premier. My whole family started shouting at the TV "That's Hope! That's Hope!"

Part 1 and 2 of the series are currently viewable online. The albatross are featured in Part 2: A Second Life. The segment is an hour long and while we highly recommend watching it in it's entirety, the albatross story starts at minute 29:51 and Hope debuts at minute 38:08 :)

Hope has taken flight!

Hats off to you all for voting Hope to be our star this season! She did not disappoint. She may have been the smallest in size of her colony this season but in personality she was the most outgoing and friendly albatross we've ever followed. She had us all captivated. As Hurricane Douglas neared Hawaii with 90 mph winds we were so worried about her still being on the ground, she was the last chick waiting to fledge on the bluff. Lola was checking morning and evening and encouraging her to take flight. "Come on Hope you can do it...there's a Hurricane coming you've got to fledge!"

We were so relieved when Hope fledged just hours before Douglas was due, and he ended passing just 30 miles north of us. Double Whew!

Hope and her buddies from this season will be soaring the skies and floating in the ocean between here and Alaska for the next 3 to 5 years. We so HOPE to see them all return! Safe travels little ones!

About the Author: Steve Frailey

My wife and I (Steve Frailey) moved to Kauai, Hawaii in 1982 from our organic farm in California. There were no roads, electricity, water or buildings but lots of Noni trees (Morinda Citrifolia) in our valley. We also developed a deep relationship with Noni that was growing all through our valley.  Today we run our Hawaiian Organic Noni farm, and share the gift of health with people throughout the world.
