Noni fruit and fruit leather

Aloha and Happy July!

Summer is in full swing here on Kaua'i. The days are long, the sunshine is strong and the tropical ocean breeze keeps us cool. Last month we shared our summertime liquid sunshine with you- our noni honey. Today I'm excited to finally debut new delicious and healthy noni recipes

Noni Bob has been a family friend and supporter of our noni products for nearly 30 years. Many of you have met him at our noni booth at trade shows in Hawaii over the years. He loves to cook and feed people. He has been a vegetarian chef in various restaurants around the the world. During this time he has been inspired to create recipes using our Noni Fruit Leather.

In the weeks and months to come we will be sharing his recipes with you. If you are looking for creative ways to add the Noni Fruit Leather to dishes look no further. He's come up with a number of salad dressings, noni potato salad, noni hummus, noni ice cubes and a farm favorite noni peanut butter balls!

Noni Recipes

Noni Ice Cubes Noni ice cubes

So easy to mix, freeze and have on hand when you need a cool down from all the summer heat. Add to fruit juices, veggie juices, smoothies or simply a refreshing super-boosted glass of water.

Noni Peanut Butter Balls Noni peanut butter balls
These are a farm favorite! We love them frozen for a quick mid-day energy boost. They melt deliciously in the mouth...it's impossible to eat just one :)

Introducing Noni Thousand Island Dressing! Noni thousand island dressing
For me, a good salad must have a mix of flavors, textures and a really good dressing. Noni Bob has really outdone himself with this one. Noni Thousand Island dressing and yes there is Noni Fruit Leather in it. It is so hard not to drizzle it on everything...salads, potatoes, rice/quinoa bowls, burgers and is super delicious as a dip for veggie sticks.

We know a good salad dressing goes a looooooong way so that's why I'm excited to share this one with you.

New Noni Potency Lab Results

All of us want to live a long and healthy life. Often, we take supplements and eat fresh food in order to stay happy and healthy. However, not all supplements are created equal and neither are all forms of noni. One of our most frequently asked questions is "why do you not make noni juice?" In short, juicing and fermenting noni completely degrades the potency and health value.

For many years we've been sharing independent lab results comparing the antioxidant power of Noni Fruit Leather vs Noni Juice. Really there is no comparison,  Noni Fruit Leather is 14x more potent than Noni Noni Fruit Leather Juice. One 2x2 inch serving of Noni Fruit Leather has 6,024 ORAC vs a 1oz serving of Noni Juice having 433 ORACClick here for more on Noni and antioxidants

Today, we have new laboratory analysis results to share on three more key compounds in noni that scientific research has shown to have the most influential impact on health. Scopoletin, damnacanthal and anthraquinone.

We sent samples of our Noni Fruit Leather and leading brands of noni juice to an independent lab for testing. The results speak for themselves, there is very little potency in fermented noni juice. The true potency is in the raw noni pulp.

Lab Results:

Hope and a buddy are still here!

Hope the albatross Hope the albatross Hope the albatross

This is unusual...but really what has not been this year? Hope is taking full advantage of a few extra weeks soaking up the summer sunshine and ocean breeze. Any day now she will fledge. What is she waiting on...that we may never know. Is it the chance of one last squid meal from Mom or Dad? A particular trade-wind pattern? The aligning of the stars? The encouragement of her peers...if they've all fledged then so must she?

Last night, both Hope and her friend who we are calling "Buddy" were still on the bluff. Proudly strutting around stretching out their wings and practicing flaps. Their baby fluff feathers are almost gone and both are rocking some pretty interesting hairdos. Today she may take first flight...time will tell.

About the Author: Steve Frailey

My wife and I (Steve Frailey) moved to Kauai, Hawaii in 1982 from our organic farm in California. There were no roads, electricity, water or buildings but lots of Noni trees (Morinda Citrifolia) in our valley. We also developed a deep relationship with Noni that was growing all through our valley.  Today we run our Hawaiian Organic Noni farm, and share the gift of health with people throughout the world.
