The Power of Noni and Your Blood Pressure

By: Steve Frailey Wednesday March 22, 2017 comments Tags: noni and blood pressure, naturally lower your blood pressure

What is blood pressure?

Blood pressure is the force blood applies to the artery wall as it flows throughout the body. Normal reasons for increased blood pressure is exerting yourself (such as exercising, moving furniture ect), or when you feel stressed or anxious (math test or in-laws anyone?).

High blood pressure makes your heart work harder and, over time, can damage your blood vessels. If the blood vessels in your kidneys are damaged, this could lead to kidney failure and other health problems.

Look at the statistics below and see how you measure up:

  • Normal: Less than 120 over 80 (120/80)
  • Prehypertension: 120-139 over 80-89
  • Stage 1 high blood pressure: 140-159 over 90-99
  • Stage 2 high blood pressure: 160 and above over 100 and above
  • High blood pressure in people over age 60: 150 and above over 90 and above

Causes of high blood pressure:

  • Smoking
  • Being overweight or obese
  • Lack of physical activity
  • Too much salt in your diet
  • Too much alcohol consumption
  • Constant/extreme stress
  • Older age
  • Genetics
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Adrenal and thyroid disorders

Did you know this about Noni Fruit?

Noni and Nitric Oxide-  Nitric oxide is believed to be one of the many factors that controls blood pressure within the body by acting as a vasodilator (or dilating of the blood vessels). Noni stimulates the body's ability to produce nitric oxide. This may help a person with hypertension and lower their blood pressure naturally.

Noni and Scopoletin-  Like nitric oxide, scopoletin has been scientifically proven to dilate blood vessels and also acts as a vasodilator to lower blood pressure. In 1993, researchers from the University of Hawaii extracted scopoletin from the Noni plant. Dr. Isabelle Abbott believes scopoletin is involved in the body’s response to noni fruit’s effect on lowering blood pressure.

Noni and Tryptophan-  When tryptophan enters the blood system, it aids the body in producing serotonin. Serotonin can aid in regulating blood flow to the brain, heart, and other vital body organs.

Noni and Serotonin-  Serotonin is a molecule that allows nerve cells to communicate and interact with each other properly. Serotonin can help regulate the expansion and contraction of blood vessels. This may help someone to naturally lower their blood pressure as well.

What kind of noni do I need?

While fresh is always best, there are numerous forms of noni fruit on the market. From juice, to capsules, to powder and fruit leather. However, not all forms of noni are created equal. The true traditional use by Polynesians and Hawaiians for thousands of years was to eat the raw non-fermented fruit pulp for full potency and maximum benefit. The key is non-fermented noni to maintain its 165 beneficial compounds. Picked at the peak of maturity, Hawaiian Organic Noni processes Noni Fruit Leather on a self-sustaining certified organic farm. The organic growing methods include mulching, composting, vermiculture (worms) and compost teas all made on the family farm. Healthy trees make abundant healthy fruit. All 165 compounds and essential amino acids are carefully preserved with no additives or chemicals.

This is done by using the entire noni pulp and slowly dehydrating the pulp below 115 degrees for over 60 hours making Noni Fruit Leather truly a raw food. So for those who don’t have fresh noni fruit available, Noni Fruit Leather is for you! Try some today and tell us how noni changed your life. We'd love to hear from you!

About the Author: Steve Frailey

My wife and I (Steve Frailey) moved to Kauai, Hawaii in 1982 from our organic farm in California. There were no roads, electricity, water or buildings but lots of Noni trees (Morinda Citrifolia) in our valley. We also developed a deep relationship with Noni that was growing all through our valley.  Today we run our Hawaiian Organic Noni farm, and share the gift of health with people throughout the world.
